Well now that I’m back from my interview, let’s see what I missed. There have been some interesting new deals this week–at least more than I saw last week. Let’s start with the big news:
Free trip on SMD4 – MilePoint
Randy Peterson, miles and points guru extraordinaire, is once again giving away a free trip on the Star Alliance MegaDO. This prize includes a ticket on the domestic charter, hotel accommodations, Randy as your seat mate, and a few other special perks.
Earn up to 25K Bonus Miles from US Airways – MJ on Travel
This is a potentially tricky promotion, but if you plan to fly on US Airways AND between 3 and 6 of its Star Alliance partners in the near future, you can earn a significant number of bonus miles. The bonus increases with the more partners you fly between now and December 15.
Save $50 TODAY on JetBlue Reservations – Deals We Like
JetBlue has a promotion going on today only for up to $300 off your reservation depending on which targeted email you receive, but the coupons for $50 off are generic. If you have some travel planned with them, you better step to it!
Up to 15,000 Points from Priority Club – Loyalty Lobby
Loyalty Lobby has a great rundown of Priority Club’s new fall promotion. There are several different versions of this promotion, earning 5, 10, or 15K points, and each of these has multiple numbers of nights you could stay to qualify. Read up to pick the best offer before registering.
Earn 10X Hawaiian Miles for Charity – @BigBlackburn
One of my twitter followers alerted me to an opportunity from Hawaii Public Radio. If you’d like to support public radio, you can earn 10 Hawaiian Miles for every dollar donated. The minimum donation is $100, and you only need 15,000 miles for an inter-island flight ($1,500 donation). Donations are fully tax deductible. See HPR for more details.
Registration Open for Starwood Fall Promotion – Deals We Like
Earn double points on stays of 1-2 nights and triple points on stays of 3+ nights. In addition, you can earn 250 bonus points for stays booked through spg.com or 500 bonus points for stays booked on SPG’s iPhone app (an Android app is coming soon).
Bonus Aeroplan Miles from Starwood – One Mile at a Time
If you don’t want Starpoints from SPG’s promotion, you can choose to earn some Aeroplan miles instead between now and December 9. Get 3,000 miles for staying 3 nights or 5,000 miles for staying 5 nights–and they don’t have to be consecutive.
40% Bonus on Alaska Airlines Purchased Miles – Points, Miles, & Martinis
The Weekly Flyer shares an opportunity to earn up to a 40% bonus on purchases of up to 40,000 miles from Alaska Airlines. The best possible value from this promotion is 2.1 cents per mile, so while not great, it’s a reasonable opportunity to top off before your next award booking.
800 Elevate Points after Signing up for Uber – View from the Wing
Gary shares a way to get 800 Elevate points from Virgin America if you sign up for Uber car service. T&C appear to suggest actually using Uber is not required; you only need to create an account.
Avoid Underage Rental Fee with Hertz – The Frugal Travel Guy
Hertz has lowered their age threshold to 20 for a limited time through January 31, 2013.
Double Rapid Rewards Points from Southwest – Points, Miles, & Martinis
The Weekly Flyer also tells us about a new promotion from Southwest to get double points on travel between now and November 15th. I’m not as excited as he is about the potential for a 60% discount (not everyone has A+ status and buys Business Select fares), but even the cheap fares can get in on this great deal.
Win a Ride on Romney’s Campaign Jet – View from the Wing
The discussion in the comments thread is already getting political over there, but if you want to wade through the mess, you can learn how to enter for a chance to ride on Mitt Romney’s campaign jet. The only question: Will Romney even be on the plane while you’re there?
