I have been seriously behind on the writing I still need to do for my old job, so I am going to try to impose a one-post-per-day limit for the next week. Today, I’m going to catch up on some of the deals and promotions after I neglected to do a Recap on Tuesday (lets face it, you were probably watching the election results anyway). So if you see me at the MegaDO hunched over my computer, feel free to say high, but don’t be surprised if I have a serious look on my face as I try to write some inspiring scientific masterpiece. 😛
Incidentally, I have 4 x $300 discounted American Airlines gift cards from Costco that I won’t be needing. If you’re interested in purchasing them at cost ($270 each + shipping) please shoot me an email.

American Express Small Business Saturday Tips – Million Mile Secrets
While I think the hoopla is overdone (registration isn’t even open yet, people) Bluebird is getting old so the next new thing is American Express’ Small Business Saturday. Learn some tips from Daraius to get $25 back for spending $25 (as in, your final cost is $0) when patronizing your local small businesses. You can do this for just about every American Express card you have, even if it wasn’t originally issued by American Express.
50% Bonus on MR Transfers to Virgin America – View from the Wing
Through November 21, you can get a 50% bonus when you transfer Membership Rewards points to Virgin America’s Elevate program. Gary points out that Elevate offers one of the worst transfer ratios (normally 2-to-1, but now 2-to-1.5), but their points are relatively valuable at 2.1 cents per Elevate point. This means you’re getting about 3.15 cents per Membership Rewards point.
18,000 US Airways Miles for 3 Shuttle Flights – New Girl in the Air
Fly the East Coast shuttle routes between LGA, BOS, and DCA on US Airways three times (one way each) to get 18,000 bonus miles. I’m not sure this is worth flying all the way to the East Coast to try, but if you are fortunate enough to live in DC or Boston, it’s probably worth checking out.
30,000 AAdvantage Miles for Citi Checking – View from the Wing
Using the code CY9S, you can open a new checking account with Citi and earn between 5,000 and 30,000 American AAdvantage miles. Note that for the top offer, you’ll need to make at least $750 in debit card purchases and direct deposit for two consecutive months. Also be warned that Citi may flag the 30K mile offer as a taxable bonus and report you to the IRS with a 1099. Hopefully the 15K mile offer will fly under the radar since it should be under the $600 value threshold.
5% American Airlines Discount Code through 12/31 – The Flight Deal
American has extended a 5% discount code 9612DD to members of a Florida credit union for all travel through the end of the year. The fortunate thing about American’s discount codes is they aren’t normally restricted to the people intended to receive them, and that’s one way I’ve been able to save some money by searching for convention discounts whenever I need to visit a new city.
