New Costco Discount Offers 25% off Select Hyatt Hotels

I’m a big fan of Hyatt partly because I’m a Costco member, and using the discount code COSTCO regularly gets me a 10-20% discount that is both (1) refundable and (2) equal to or better than the pre-paid non-refundable rate. This makes it easier to check back and rebook if the price ever goes lower. Hyatt also has AAA discounts, but I need to fish out my membership number, and it doesn’t work as often as COSTCO. I can’t remember the last time a domestic Hyatt didn’t have a Costco discount.

Loyalty Lobby reports that there is a new limited-time promotion offering a larger 25% discount to Costco members at select Hyatt properties in the Southwest. For once, Hyatt has given us a list of participating properties, something they often overlook during their 48 hour sales. You still face a challenge finding available dates when the discount is actually being offered. Just looking at this list, however, I recognize many names that often have discounted rates.

This offer is available between August 26 and December 30, 2013. Use the offered code COSSW when making your reservation. Unfortunately, the first night’s room and tax is due at the time of reservation and is not refundable. So the terms are not as good as the usual Costco discount.

Full Terms & Conditions:

Offer is valid for Costco members only. A valid Costco membership card must be presented at check-in to receive the limited time discounted offer at participating Southwest Region Hyatt®, Hyatt Regency®, Grand Hyatt®, Andaz®, Park Hyatt Aviara and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Offer valid August 26th, 2013 to December 30th, 2013 when booked between August 19th, 2013 and September 20th, 2013 at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts. Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance at the Costco Southwest Regional Promotional rate. Guest must request offer code COSSW at time of reservation. Rate is per room, per night, excluding service charges, taxes and other incidental expenses. One (1) night room and tax deposit is required at time of booking and is non-refundable. Offer is not valid with groups/conventions and may not be combined with other promotional offers. Rate is based on double occupancy and the discount is off of the Hyatt Daily Rate on the standard guest room category. If applicable, the discount will be reflected in the rate quoted. Additional guests may be subject to additional hotel charges. Additional charges apply to room-type upgrades. A limited number of rooms are allocated to this promotion. Promotional blackout periods may apply due to seasonal periods or special events, and normal arrival/departure restrictions apply. Scott:

How do you get the discount? I went to Hyatt reservations and didn’t see any where to enter a discount code. I went to Costco travel and didn’t see anywhere to make just a hotel reservation. Need info for regular bookings, not just the specials. Thanks.

Hyatt changed their website, so it isn’t as obvious as it used to be. When you go to Hyatt.com, click on the link for “Offers and Gift Certificates” when entering your dates and destination. In the box that pops up, enter your discount code in the box for “Gift Certificate or Special Offer Code”.

If you qualify for multiple discounts, you can search for more than one as long as they don’t require the same entry field. For example, you can search a AAA rate (check the button), a Costco discount (the Special Offer Code), and a corporate rate all at the same time. But you cannot search for two different Costco discounts because they require the same entry field.
