SiberianTiger shared a cheap fare on FlyerTalk today that caught my attention because it originates in the Pacific Northwest. But it’s not departing Vancouver, Seattle, or Portland. No. It departs from Boise — the original home of United Airlines in case you find that sort of trivia interesting.
The thought of earning over 23,000 miles in a single trip is tempting, but it also looks like one of the most painful mileage runs imaginable. The only thing worse than being packed into a tiny regional jet is being one of the hundreds of people packed into a 747 or A380.
Not great at 5.2 CPM. The main attraction is the volume of miles. You can save a few dollars by extending your trip, or add a few dollars by including extra connections. But this itinerary does at least let you take a day to explore Frankfurt and about two days in Johannesburg. I’d probably spend most of that time sleeping.
Have you guys come across any more grueling mileage run candidates? This one actually wouldn’t be so bad if it could be upgraded with a GPU.
