Alaska Airlines has a large number of routes on sale all week until December 7, letting you plan ahead and book travel now while it’s at a discount. Remember that MVP Gold and 75K members can book on speculation and change their flights with no penalty at any time if their plans change. Other customers can change their flights without penalty up until 60 days before departure.
Fares start at $49 one-way, and there are even flights from Seattle to Honolulu for $149 or from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta for $159.
If you’re looking for a mileage run candidate, the options are slim. Alaska typically doesn’t have many good mileage runs because they rely less on hubs than other airlines. Nonstop flights earn fewer miles for the same cost as a connecting itinerary. However, there might be a few options. For example, I found Seattle to Raleigh-Durham for $99 each way, plus tax. At 4,709 miles round-trip, this might be worth booking. Most fares that are lower are for much shorter distances, and longer trips are much more expensive. Other options may be available from different departure cities.
