I recently posted about all of the in-flight products that are featured on Delta Air Lines’ flights over the next coming months. Similar to American Airlines, Delta uses a mix of wide and narrow body aircraft on long-haul international flights to Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and Latin America, along with several transoceanic flights to Hawaii, Alaska, and within the Continental U.S.
You will find that Delta, unlike American, does not offer a First Class product, but is offering a new Business Class suite on its Airbus A350-900s, as it was the launch carrier for this type of aircraft. The Airbus A350 is only available on select routes from Detroit, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to points in Asia, as well as Amsterdam, while it is more common to find the widebody Boeing and Airbus fleets on flights to Latin America, Africa, Australia, and Europe and from the U.S. West Coast to Asia.
Delta operates its long-haul flights from six primary bases in Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle, along with two overseas bases in Amsterdam and Tokyo Narita. The latter is slowly being unraveled as Delta has now created a new transpacific joint-venture agreement with Korean Air, and the focus has shifted to using Seoul as its overseas hub. Delta also has a sizable market presence for long-haul flights in Boston, Orlando, Salt Lake City, Portland, and Honolulu, and has a few long-haul spokes out of markets like Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Raleigh/Durham, and Pittsburgh.
For Summer 2018, Delta will be operating several seasonal flights to “niche” tourist and ethnic markets such as Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Ponta Delgada, and Venice, among others. The vast majority of its long-haul network is concentrated out of Atlanta and New York JFK, while transpacific operations are rooted in Detroit, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
These are the following routes, aircraft, and frequencies for Delta, by each hub. Note that each route is offered daily throughout the summer period, and on a year-round basis throughout the calendar (albeit with reduced frequencies during shoulder periods) unless otherwise noted.
Departing Atlanta (ATL)
Delta’s transatlantic hub from Atlanta will be primarily to business-oriented markets, such as Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Brussels, Munich, and Milan, along with core markets and SkyTeam hubs such as Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, and London, and also to high-volume leisure markets such as Barcelona, Venice, Rome, and Dublin. Interestingly, Zurich is a seasonal route from Atlanta. Markets such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Vienna, and Moscow are no longer offered from Atlanta, and Manchester has been taken over by JV partner Virgin Atlantic.

On the global scale, Delta has reinstated service to Seoul, thanks to its JV with Korean Air, and will add nonstop service to Shanghai come July, which it discontinued in September 2009. Shanghai is where it has a partner hub via China Eastern.
Service to Alaska and Hawaii will be on domestic-configured 767s. Delta has also discontinued several Latin American markets from Atlanta, such as Brasilia and Caracas, and pulled out of the Gulf region altogether after it cancelled service from Atlanta to Dubai in 2016.
Departing Detroit (DTW)
Detroit will be Delta’s primary A350 hub this summer, with rotations to Amsterdam, Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo Narita on this new aircraft. Summer seasonal service to Munich and Rome will return, and a second daily Paris flight will resume in May.

Los Angeles will see new service offered this year to Paris and Amsterdam, on a sub-daily basis, with the 777-200LRs that have been presumably freed up thanks to the A350 introduction These will operate in addition to Delta’s JV partner flights operated on Air France and KLM to Paris and Amsterdam, respectively.

Departing New York (JFK)
Delta’s transatlantic JFK strategy differs slightly from Atlanta in that many of these routes are oriented around origin-and-destination traffic to NYC, as well as some ethnic traffic (hence why we see markets like Berlin, Prague, and Ponta Delgada). There have been reductions, however, in that Delta has ceased service to Stockholm, Moscow, Pisa, and Istanbul from its JFK hub.
EDIT: Service to Glasgow originally excluded from the map, but reflected in the table.
