American Express offers now brings us 20,000 membership reward points for spending $1,000 or more on Air France and KLM! There are two different offers available, which means savvy travelers who buy flights on Air France and/or KLM before July 31, 2018 could earn 40,000 bonus Membership award points!
Offer Terms and Condition
Both offers are basically the same, just with different airline names. From the credit card company:
Get 20,000 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $1,000+ in one or more eligible transactions online at airfrance.us by 7/31/2018. Purchase must be in U.S. dollars. See terms for exclusions.
Get 20,000 additional Membership Rewards points 1X by using your enrolled Card to spend $1,000+ in one or more eligible transactions directly with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines by 7/31/18. Flight must originate in US and be charged in USD to qualify. See terms
Note in the terms that for KLM, that only flights which originate from the USA count. Remember, American Express does receive ticketing data from the airlines. They will know if the flight does not originate from the United States. Also, if your flight isn’t over $1,000, multiple smaller purchases at different times will combine to meet the bonus requirements.

Air France offer details are the same as KLM, just sub out the airlines names. This makes a lot of sense to me as Air France and KLM are essentially the same airline/company.
Active Amex Offer
The offer is a targeted offer. I have three different American Express cards and the offer is only on my American Express Platinum. To active the offer, log in to your American Express account and scroll to the bottom of the page where American Express offers are listed. Then, select the offer. The offer will then be connected to the card. Check your accounts and let us know if you have this offer and if so, what type of American Express credit card.
If you plan to fly this year and can buy your ticket before 7/31, this is a great way to earn a LOT of bonus points!
