From February 15 through May 15, you can earn up to 4X bonus points when you stay with IHG Rewards brands including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Kimpton. This is an escalating promotion that starts out with 1,000 bonus points on your first night and then grows with each night thereafter for a maximum of 301,000 total bonus points. You must register and book by April 15, 2020.
- Night 1: Get 1,000 bonus points
- Nights 2-5: Get 2X bonus points up to 100,000 bonus points
- Nights 6-10: Get 3X bonus points up to 100,000 bonus points
- Nights 11-15: Get 4X bonus points up to 100,000 bonus points
You might ask how bonuses are calculated on a multi-night stay. In that case, the total cost of the stay will be averaged across the total number of nights, even if the daily rate changes. You must spend at least $30 per night for it to be eligible under this promotion.

Most brands earn 10 points per dollar under IHG Rewards, though Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites earn just 5 points per dollar. That means with this promotion you’re looking at a bonus of 10, 20, or 30 additional points per dollar at most hotels for a total of 20-40 points per night.
Hitting the cap is possible but unlikely for most guests. You’d need to spend over $3,000 on a five-night stay to earn more than 100,000 bonus points once you reach the 4X tier. Clearly there is an advantage to rearranging your stays with the most expensive ones last if you have that option for your upcoming travel. In addition, you can earn even more points if you have IHG Rewards status or an IHG credit card. The current IHG Rewards Club Premier credit card issued by Chase earns 10 points per dollar and includes Platinum status, for another 50% bonus.
