Final Thoughts
As an avgeek, I have been following the 737MAX for years. I can say that the 737MAX has been the most scrutinized aircraft to receive regulatory approval for airworthiness. The issues with the MCAS system have been resolved and pilots now have received training and type-certification for the 737MAX.
The MAX jets will allow Alaska Airlines to substantially reduce fuel consumption and their carbon footprint.
