New Daily Service Begins November 30, 2022
Alaska Airlines is connecting the newest commercial airport in the Seattle area with another one of their main hubs with new daily, nonstop service between Everett, Wash. and Anchorage. This new daily, year-round service begins on November 30, 2022.
The 1,420-mile flights will be flown on E-175 regional jets. The E-175 features 12 first-class seats with premium economy and economy seating in a 2+2 layout with no middle seats.
The new route has a block time of 4:00 northbound and 3:30 on the return to Everett, WA:
Growing The Operations Out Of Paine Field In Everett, WA
Passengers flying to and from Everett—about 20 miles north of Seattle and 70 miles south of Bellingham— will enjoy a convenient, stress-free, upscale alternative airport experience with a lounge atmosphere. Not only is this airport convenient for residents north of Seattle, but it also helps relieve some of the congestion at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Paine Field is also the home to the Boeing wide-body airliner factory.
Since Alaska’s regularly scheduled service launched there in March 2019, they’ve flown roughly 1.3 million passengers to and from Paine Field-Snohomish County Airport. From Everett this fall and winter, Alaska Airlines will fly to nine destinations: Anchorage, Boise, Las Vegas, Orange County, Palm Springs, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Spokane.
The new nonstop from Everett, operated by Alaska regional airline, Horizon Air, Anchorage becomes the farthest destination and longest flight we’ll serve from that airport. It’s also their first route to fly north from it.
On the operations side, Horizon began operating a new 74,000-square-foot hangar and maintenance facility on the Paine Field property this year. The new facility can accommodate up to four E175 aircraft at a time.
“We listened to our guests who live and work from north of Seattle to the Canadian border. They told us one of their top requests is a nonstop flight between Everett and Anchorage,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances for Alaska Airlines. “There’s a significant need and demand to connect workers and businesses in the two regions —from the fishing industry to aviation—in addition to the desire for leisure travel. We’re ready to welcome our guests on this new route this fall.”
Final Thoughts
Alaska Airlines continues to grow its terminal at Everett, WA. For those living north of Seattle, this means a shorter commute and less stress to catch a flight to Anchorage. I suspect that Alaska Airlines will continue to grow its operations at Everett as a minor hub airport.
