Atlas Ocean Voyage Antarctica
Building a quick name for themselves Atlas now has 3 ships in Antarctica all plying the Drake passage and visiting the Antarctica peninsula with 198 guests. The World Traveller, World Voyager, and World Navigator are sister ships offering similar experiences. The small intimate luxury yachts offers guests an opportunity to get up close and personal with nature while exploring the world’s final frontier. With less than 200 guests, guests can expect two off ship experiences per day. Walking, hiking, and interacting with penguins, whales and Seals throughout the day.
AOV offers a luxury experience that is among the best in Antarctica. With a focus on nature and exploring future, and luxury and comfort second. Guests are pampered with an all inclusive itinerary without hidden fees. Every trip includes everything from premium spirits, wine and beer to gourmet meals, 24 hour room service, port fees and taxes, and staff gratuities built into the cost. The extra do not end there though as Atlas includes a pre-trip hotel in Buenos Aires and Charter flights to and from Antarctica.
Check out everything that is included on Atlas Ocean Voyages. Unlike the big ship companies, small ships offer a true upfront pricing. The only thing that is not included is extra off ship activities such as Kayaking or camping. Yet know every landing and zodiac cruise is included.
Tierra del Fuego Bonus
I also love that on EVERY trip to Antarctica Atlas includes a journey through Tierra del Fuego’s. Guests enjoy the natural beauty from the comfort of a coach. Along the way guests get to experience extraordinary wildlife, which will only prepare you for what is to come. From the Magellanic woodpeckers of the forests to the penguin colony of Martillo Island, Tierra del Fuego National Park offers nature lovers a delightful slice of Patagonia wildlife. Visiting her before departing is a special treat unique to Atlas Ocean Voyage guests.
The region is home to at least 50 bird species, including the austral parakeet and Andean condor. Eagles can sometimes be seen soaring over the Beagle Channel. Mammals such as the guanaco, red foxes, muskrat and even small South American camel have been seen wandering the landscapes of the park. Making this an awesome way to kick off your vacation before jumping on the ship and crossing the Drake passage.

Why Visit Antarctica In March
Visiting Antarctica late in the season can be a blessing and something that many people miss out on. In late February and March the last of the chicks are hatched and are running around preparing to spend their winter at Sea. Yet, you’re still likely to see young chicks and even some penguins who are hatching late or still sitting on eggs. These chicks sadly won’t make it, but you will be surprised by the number of small chicks you’ll still see. Penguin colonies vary—some deserted, others bustling. Molting adults look irritable, while parents feed their fledgling chicks. Gentoo chicks are especially entertaining, chasing parents for food and hesitantly testing the waters. Meanwhile, leopard seals lurk, ready to capitalize on their inexperience. Watch the circle of life before your own eyes!
March is still a prime time for wildlife, especially if you like whales! Humpback whales peak in numbers, having feasted on krill all summer. By then, they’re loafing, fueling up for their migration. Meanwhile, kelp gulls, Giant petrels, skuas, and even tiny storm petrels are still hanging out in their summer home. Plus, March is also the time of greatest Antarctic fur seal abundance around the Antarctic Peninsula!
