If you are flying Delta, United, or American and you have not added a “business perks” account to your profile/frequent flyer number then you are missing out on thousands of bonus miles each year that can be cashed in for club passes, free drinks, free flights, and more! That’s right, each airline does not only have a frequent flyer program, but they have a small business program which allows you to earn miles or points based on spending. These revenue accounts can be shared across business or households and allow you and your business (or family) to earn even more free rewards.
Both Delta & American are offering a “refer a friend” bonus programs right now which allows both the new member and the member who referred you to earn bonus points. On American, the bonus is 1,000 points and on Delta it’s 5,000 points! Both allow a max of 5 people to sign up under your name.
Both of these offers were sent to me, but it appears if you log into your business extra account and then click this link, you’ll be able to refer up to five friends, earning a total of 5,000 Business ExtrAA points. If you currently do not have a Business ExtrAA account, feel free to email me (Rocky@upgrd.com) your name and email address that you’d like your referral sent to and I’d be happy to help you out!
So what can 5,000 Business ExtrAA points get you? A free flight in economy, business or first within North America or to the Caribbean or a coach ticket to any other part of the world! Or you can upgrade any ticket to anywhere in the world (except India) for just 3100 points! 5,000 points is almost more than enough for a year-long AAdmiral club membership, a few day passes, or even American Airline Advantage Gold status! This is not a bad ROI since you don’t even have to step foot on a plane to earn these 5,000 points!
Similarly to the promotion above, Delta is having a promotion where each person you refer earns 5,000 SkyBonus points and the referee also receives 5,000 points as a token of appreciation. 5,000 points sounds like a lot, however just like the SkyMile programs, the SkyBonus program is over inflated and everything costs more. So much more inflated that 25,000 SkyBonus points will NOT get you anything more than 10 free drink coupons! Go figure SkyPesos!
Either way, If you fly Delta or if you fly American, you really should take advantage of this promotional offer while it lasts, and just a reminder, if you need a referral, do not hesitate to reach out to me, I’d be more than happy to send you a referral link so you can earn the 1,000 or 5,000 points and then spread the world yourself to your friends and family!
***Update as of 3/2/14 I have given out all my AA promotion codes, I can now only refer people to the Delta program***
