The main reason for my trip to Europe was to attend a English Premier League match at Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club. For those who want to bet on that match, they can do so on sites such as หวยออนไลน์. I’ve visited Liverpool before, but never attended a football match there.

We got a great deal at the hotel, and it was a scenic place with easy access to the city. The photo above shows the Royal Liver Building which along with the Albert Dock and a few other places are part of the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We spent a lot of time exploring Liverpool itself, including some of the museums very near our hotel, the Liverpool Maritime Museum, the International Slavery Museum and the Museum of Liverpool, all of which are free to enter. We also visited the more prominent cathedrals in town.

We even took a day trip via train to historic Chester, which its intact Roman walls, seems quite unique to see such old architecture.

Of course, the main reason for our visit was to attend a football match at Anfield. Thanks to a good friend and former coworker, we were able to get tickets from some other club members. Tickets at Anfield are never easy to come by, especially with the success the team has has this season, so we were quite excited to be there for a match.
Our seats were in the Anfield Road End, adjacent to the visiting supporters.
The atmosphere was amazing all over town, and especially around the stadium. Despite a disappointing result by the home team (a 2-2 draw), the crowd was buzzing. I enjoy most live sporting events, and the feel inside Anfield on match day was a great experience, especially as a Liverpool supporter. Later we visited the stadium for a tour, which was a great experience in itself, and much less crowded than on the day of a match. Being able to walk through the dressing room, the tunnel and on the pitch is great, plus the museum is a must visit for Liverpool fans.

This memorial is dedicated to the 96 people crushed to death at a Liverpool match in 1989. This tragedy was 25 years ago but sadly, survivors and families are still fighting for justice.
Final thoughts
Liverpool is a great, vibrant city, and even non-football fans would enjoy a visit there. I flew into Manchester and took a train from the airport to Liverpool Lime Street station. Liverpool has an airport as well, served by low cost carriers. Upon leaving, I again flew from Manchester airport, this time in Swiss via Zurich.
