Earn Bonus Miles on Qantas
Alaska Airlines is enhancing Mileage Plan by letting members earn additional miles on Qantas. Business and First class already earn 125% and 250% bonus miles and now a bonus is coming to Economy class!
From November 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018 economy class flights will earn double miles! All Qantas flights between North America and Australia are eligible! Even the short jump between New York and Los Angeles!
Qualifying routes include:
Los Angeles to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
New York and Sydney (via Los Angeles).
San Francisco and Sydney.
Vancouver, BC and Sydney.
To earn the double miles in economy, you must register. Registration ends on October 31, 2017. Make sure to register even if you do not have travel plans today. Who knows what next year will bring!
Most economy class fares will earn the bonus. Flights in Q, O, N, S, V, M, L, G, K, H, B, and Y class of service earn double the miles! Extremely discounted fares will not. Economy class flights already earn 100% base miles, but with this bonus they will earn 200% base miles! Flights between LAX and Sydney usually earn 7,488 miles in each direction, with this bonus, you can earn 29,952 on a round trip! Bonus miles does not count towards elite status.
Register to Earn Double
Do not forget to register for this bonus! A LOT can change between now and May of 2018 and you may just find yourself on your way to Australia! To ensure you earn this bonus follow these simple steps.
First, Register for this promotion.
Second, book a ticket to Australia in the correct economy class.
Third, make sure the ticket is marketed and operated by Qantas. Do not buy a ticketed marketed by another Airlines. Such as American Airlines operated by Qantas.
Fourth, credit the flight to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account.
