When United got kicked out of the North Satellite at Seattle’s Sea-Tac airport, it left behind a basement-level United Club that many hoped would one day become a second Alaska Airlines Board Room. The main Board Room location near the C and D Concourses is often crowded. Even if it wasn’t, it can be annoying to visit that lounge and leave many minutes early to take the train to the North Satellite.
Building a North Satellite Board Room is an obvious move now that Alaska controls all of its gates.
There was an announcement this week that they will be opening in that former United Club space sometime during 2015. A clear date is not set other than sometime during the first half. I know I saw it in an email or something, but having lost that reference I’ll point you to FlyerTalk where some local customers are discussing the news (my email was not any more detailed):
You Asked, We Listened
Your New Board Room Is On Its WayWhile we’re thrilled about the Seattle rooftop lounge (opening in 2018), we’d like to welcome you to a new temporary Board Room in the Seattle North Satellite before that time arrives.
You can expect this second Board Room to open in the North Concourse in mid-2015. We hope this second location will help make your journeys more comfortable and even more hassle-free. Stay tuned: We’ll be announcing the open-date early in 2015.
More details about that new, permanent rooftop Board Room that opens later aren’t readily available. But it is discussed among many other Sea-Tac airport enhancements in this long-range forecast on the Alaska Airlines website and the Sea-Tac NorthSTAR concept page.
