American has again refreshed their amenity kits, with these newest versions becoming available on flights beginning in mid-February 2019. For the last few years, Cole Haan put their name on American’s amenity kits. Contents have been consistent for a few years, although the bags have changed. Here is the 2017 version of American Airlines Business Class Amenity Kit, and here is the 2018 version of the American Airlines Business Class Amenity kit.
For 2019, the kits are totally different. Personally, I think its time. Descriptions are directly from American’s press release:
The kits were designed in collaboration with This is Ground, Athletic Propulsion Labs and STATE Bags and feature products from Allies of Skin, Zenology and Baxter of California. Color rotations and products vary depending on cabin, however each kit includes the essentials: an eye mask, earplugs, a toothbrush and toothpaste.
New Amenity kits for international flights
International Flagship First and Business class travelers will receive kit made by This is Ground. Skincare products come from Allies of Skin. Admittedly, I’ve not heard of either of these, but based only on the photos, the cases look better than the current offerings.
I have some long haul travel coming up, so hopefully I’ll get to try out these new kits, and I’ll have a full review. I’m reserving judgement until I’ve actually seen these kits for myself, but despite how nice the cases look, the contents of the business kits look to contain the absolute bare minimum of contents.

- Features skincare products from Baxter of California and two different color rotations
American Airlines Transcontinental Flagship First and Business Class Amenity Kits
- Kits designed by Los-Angeles based shoe company Athletic Propulsion Labs
- Features skincare products from Zenology, an oversized eye mask, added FlyFit hydration pack and earplugs
Final thoughts
Looking forward to seeing these kits in person, and to test them out. To me, the cases look better than past versions, but the contents seem to be pretty minimal. That said, hopefully the products are nice, but I’ve never heard of any of these new vendors. I like the idea of working with smaller companies, hopefully they are deserving.
Have you seen these new amenity kits on your AA flights? Are they an improvement on past versions? Have you heard of any of these brands?
