I think the “ultimate free honeymoon” is something that many young business travelers aspire to attain. Maybe they’re consultants or maybe they work in sales, but either way, they spend a lot of time in airplanes and hotels, stashing points away to hopefully blow someday on an ultimate vacation or honeymoon. I’m happy to realize that aspiration and book our honeymoon for this October almost entirely with points. While I’ve blogged about the honeymoon before and here, this series of posts will lay out every flight and hotel reservation, showing you how you can do the same.

Our honeymoon is going to be spent primarily in Mauritius, Egypt, and the Maldives, with a few quick stopovers in places like Abu Dhabi and Bangalore.
As you can see from the map, we’re flying all the way around the world. This will be my first time doing that! My fiancé has always wanted to go to the Maldives so that will be the highlight of our trip, when we spend six nights there at the end of our honeymoon. As long as we’re in the Indian Ocean, we might as well check out Mauritius too! We’re going to begin our trip with four nights at the St. Regis in Mauritius, assuming its opening does not get further delayed. After Mauritius, we’re going to Egypt for a few days, and then from Egypt, we’re off to the Maldives via Abu Dhabi. Stay tuned for the series of posts highlighting each booking, how it was made, and why I chose it!
