After a couple of years of delay it appears that the new Visa requirement for Brazil is finally happening. Starting April 10, 2025 Brazil will resume entry visa requirements for citizens of the United States, Australia and Canada. In 2022 Brazil announced this change, but then delayed it multiple times. Visa will be required for those arriving by those arriving in Brazil by air, sea, or land. Meaning even if you are on a cruise, you will need a visa.

The number of Americans booking flights to Brazil jumped 39% in the first six months after the government of Brazil waived visa requirement for U.S. citizens and other. Since initially being introduce the process for a Brazil visa has been simplified. The new Brazil evisa is much easier than the previous visa requirements that required applicants to visit a Brazilian embassy or consulate. Visitors can utilize an E-visa for stays in Brazil w up to 90 days in length.

Previously Brazilian Visa reciprocity fees was $160 for US Citizens and $80 for most other countries. Currently, the Brazilian Evisa fee is $80.90 USD with a 10-year validity. For Canadians and Australians the evisa is only valid for 5 year. The reason, US passports are valid for 10 years and Canadian and Australian passports are only valid for 5 years. If you get a new passport, you must get a new Brazil evisa.
A very important thing to note is that even though this is an evisa, only the process is online. Travelers must still present a printed version of your eVisa on arrival. Be sure to screenshot and saved you visa so you do not loose it.
