Condor Airlines Business Class offers a competitive and fresh experience which emerges as a beacon of comfort and sophistication once onboard the plane. Condor a330neo business class product elevates the flying experience with a new product and experience including Prime Seats which offers an upgraded experience over the standard business class. As Germany’s leisure airline and much smaller than the giant Lufthansa, Condor has upped the flying game and outshines Lufthansa in terms of seat and onboard product.
As discerning travelers seek an elevated experience in the skies, Condor Airlines sets itself apart by offering a seamless fusion of top-notch service, cutting-edge amenities, and a fantastically comfortable business class seat. Let’s embark on a journey through the clouds and explore why Condor Airlines Business Class stands as a testament to refined air travel. My Experience was flying Condor business class tickets between Frankfurt and Seattle. My ticket was purchased with miles through Alaska Mileage Plan.
The Condor Airlines Passenger Experience:
Flying from Frankfurt the experience can be hectic. Yet that’s mostly due to the design of the airport and is no fault of Condor. At their main hub, there’s not a big differentiator between Condor and Lufthansa ground experience for most passengers.
Condor does not have their own lounges, but instead utilizes lufthansa business class lounges. The real Condor experience begins once on the plane. It would be wise for Condor to open their own lounge or offer a more exciting ground experience. Maybe offering something for Premium economy passengers or frequent flyers.
Lufthansa wins the ground game in Frankfurt. This is mostly because they also offer upgraded lounges such as First Class lounges and Senator lounges which select Lufthansa passengers can access but Condor flyers cannot.
Condor Business Class Cabin and Seats
Condor Airlines Business Class epitomizes comfort from the moment you step on board. The carefully designed cabins boast generously spacious seating, providing passengers with ample room to stretch out and unwind. A true premium product. The ergonomically crafted seats are not only plush but can also be converted into a fully lie flat bed. Beds extend to 6 feet 5 inches (1.99m).
Each Condor business class seat is equipped with an array of controls and amenities, allowing passengers to customize their seating positions for optimal comfort. The lie flat seat ensures even the tallest passengers have a rejuvenating rest during long-haul flights. The beds are very comfortable and each seat has a nice pillow and blanket in addition to a seat cover/mattress pad.
All business class passengers also get an amenity kit and slippers. I personally love when airlines provide slippers as they are great footwear for bathroom runs.
The Condor A330neo Business class cabin is outfitted with 30 business class seats. The first row is known as Prime Seats. These seats are larger and feature upgraded amenities such as Pajamas and sweet snacks. The seats are also longer and feature an ottoman for hosting a travel partner instead of a foot cubby like the other 26 seats.
Condor offers Prime seats for a premium cost. You can book Condor Prime seats online or pay for the upgrade at the airport. I opted not to upgrade. But if you do, choose a window seat, the seats are slightly wider.
Condor business class cabin features all aisle access seats. The seats do not have doors like we’ve seen on newer variations of business class seats, but offer enough privacy for travelers without the door. The seats are a huge improvement over the angled seat found on the 767 or the Etihad a330 converts which are lay flat seats but an older variation.
Seats feature plenty of upgrades and technology improvement too. Keep devices charged with both a USB-A and USB-C port plus an international power outlet at each seat.
In-Flight Entertainment
Boredom has no place on Condor Airlines. The state-of-the-art entertainment system offers a plethora of options to keep passengers engaged throughout their journey. The new business class seats offer a large crips 17.4 inches screen with tons of choices. Prime seats boast an impressive 24-inch 4K entertainment screen. These TVs are beautiful and offer some of the best inflight TVs I’ve experienced while flying. Clean, crisp, clear. The picture quality is absolutely fantastic.
From the latest blockbuster movies to an extensive music library and interactive games, there’s something for every taste. The 4K high resolution monitors, coupled with noise-canceling headphones, create a private entertainment oasis at 30,000 feet. I really enjoyed the mixture of international films and blockbuster favorites.
Another highlight of Condor’s new seats is that eachgGuests can pair their own bluetooth devices to the system. I personally find my noise canceling headphones to be of higher quality and more comfortable than the airline provides. Plus, it’s nice to know the headsets are mine and weren’t on someone else’s head prior.
For those looking for Wi-Fi. Condor has you covered with a vast array of plans. For those only looking to chat via messenger apps the cost is €7. Actually wifi plans for computers or browsing start at €12 for 2 hours or €20 for 4 hours of premium internet. Premium 4 hour plans include speeds up to 1200 kbps. Meanwhile the 2 hour plan is only 600 kbps. Note that Wifi is only available on the A330neo fleet. Other planes do not offer Wifi at time of writing.
Exquisite Dining Experience
Eating on a plane can be hit or miss, but Condor really excels here. Elevating the culinary journey, Condor Airlines Business Class takes in-flight dining to new heights. Passengers are treated to a curated menu of gastronomic delights, prepared by top chefs. The airline’s commitment to quality is reflected in its use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
You can review the menu and drink options below.
Meal service started about 30 minutes after take off. The entire meal experience took around 2 hours which is perfect for a long day flight to the United States. Service first started with warm mix nuts and drink service.
Meals are large on Condor, ensuring all guests are left satisfied. Each passenger receives a salad, bread, and two appetizers. Our bread choices included the compulsory and delicious warm German pretzel, plus garlic bread, and other multigrain breads. Meal service was done from the trolley and drinks were topped off while serving each passenger.
The main course had three options. I opted for the cod. Although it did not look overly appetizing and the pea puree looked uninviting, it was actually one of the best fish meals I have enjoyed in the air. It was flavorful, tasted fresh, and was moist! Flight attendants cleared the appetizer tray and brought out hot meals individually. It felt more like restaurant service than airplane service. A very nice touch.
My partner Diego opted for the pasta. He too really enjoyed his meal. I had a couple of bites and found it to be very good pasta for an airplane and the sauce was creamy and scrumptious.
After dinner, a dessert cart passed through the aisle with fresh fruit and cheese plates, ice cream or lemon tartlet. We were encouraged to take both the cheese and fruit plate with a dessert.
How To Book
Anyone can book a ticket on Condor Airlines and pay. Although to me that would just be silly unless you are trying to earn miles and status with an airline. For this trip I took advantage of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Condor is a sweet spot in the Alaska Airlines award chart. Award flights start at just 55,000 miles between North America and Germany.
Alaska Airlines also allows a stop over on partner awards in the hub. You can fly beyond Germany to anywhere Condor Flies and even add a few nights in Frankfort for the same price. Just pay the difference in taxes. With no fuel surcharges and a low redemption rate, this is one of the best uses of Alaska miles.
The only issue? Alaska miles are hard to come by. You cannot transfer any credit card points to Alaska Airlines Mileage plan. Meaning you must spend on Alaska’s credit card or earn the miles by flying.
Bottom Line
Condor Airlines business class flights offer a fantastic travel option to and from Europe. The new A330neo is a huge upgrade over their other plans and is on par as one of the best business class products to Germany. Condor’s Business class fares are often very attractive, often less than $1,500 each way. Making Condor an exceptional value.
From the moment passengers step on board a condor flight to the time they disembark, every aspect of the journey is thoughtfully crafted to exceed expectations. Whether it’s the spacious seating, gourmet dining, attentive service, or commitment to sustainability, Condor Airlines sets a benchmark for what Business Class travel should be. And don’t forget, Condor is an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan partner and you can earn and redeem miles on Condor via Alaska Airlines.
