And when I say new lounges, I mean in addition to the ones you’ve already heard about.
Alaska Airlines just opened its second Board Room location in the North Satellite, which is temporary until a new rooftop lounge opens after the terminal renovation is complete. This is in addition to its original Board Room location between the D and C concourses. But a third Board Room — also located in the C concourse, will open in 2016, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Delta, meanwhile, is planning to add a second lounge near its gates between the A and B concourses. It currently has a nice, modern lounge in the South Satellite, which is where the majority of international flights arrive and depart. Although some customers can take advantage of the recently opened Amex Centurion Studio in the B concourse, the majority don’t have a good option. That will be fixed with Delta’s second lounge, which is supposed to be huge: 21,000 square feet with 30-foot ceilings.
I’m quite excited with all the growth here in Seattle. Where once I had to choose between the overcrowded Board Room or United’s subterranean Red Carpet Club, now there are new lounges popping up left and right.
