I do not fly Delta very often these days, but recently I cashed in 22,000 FlyingBlue miles for an award redemption on Delta to fly from Sacramento to Los Angeles to meet my partner and then fly with him to Seattle, where we overnighted for 20 hours before continuing in Business to Hawaii on AF partner Alaska Air. The entire trip was booked in business class and this was the first time I was flying Delta since the introduction of Delta Studio. I was excited to try this new enhancement..
Well it turns out that Delta’s inflight studio is a treat that only will work for a select few, and not for me! Both my awesome Android S5 and my Sony Vio 2-in-1 laptop-tablet that runs windows 8.1 is not capable of streaming Delta’s studio content. Delta studio is restricted to just a couple of web browsers and turns out not a single 64 bit windows operating system is not capable of streaming content! This means not only my own personal laptop, but my work computer also doesn’t work! urg, Dislike!
Well despite Delta’s studio being only available on select operating system, it is by far a big leap ahead of other streaming options on aircrafts and is a step in the right direction! I hope to see either gogo or delta fix the issue of incapability in order to allow more customers the opportunities to stream on board! Yet either way, streaming on a regional jet (where available) is better than no options at all. SO good job delta on including most passengers devices, but get on it and let’s make it available on more androids and more device!
