This week, while stopping by the SkyClub in Terminal F, I had the pleasure to check out the newly open SkyDeck. The Skydeck provides a place for travelers to inhale fresh air while providing superb views of runways and taxiways. The SkyDeck is small, but can easily accommodate 25 or so passengers on the terrace with seats that provide stellar views for any aviation geek!
On my visit to the SkyDeck, I did not stay long because it was a stormy and muggy day and the humidity was too much to bear, but I could see how the SkyDeck would be a great place to lounge between flights on a fall, winter or early spring afternoon when the weather in Atlanta is more comfortable. Either way, the designers of the deck did a fabulous job with the space and even remembered power outlets throughout the sitting area, thus allowing travelers to recharge themselves and their electronics simultaneously.
During my visit, most of the furniture was covered due to the rain, yet the deck was still open for those who braved the weather. Within a minute of walking outside, a club employee followed me onto the veranda and welcomed me to the new SkyClub. She was very friendly and excited for the space. After a few minutes of conversing she offered to snap a photo of me in the new space. She also informed me that I was still more than welcome to sit outside if I wanted to, but warned me that most of the chair cushions were wet from the rain showers that had just passed minutes earlier and that the weather forecast was for more rain in the near future.
The SkyDeck is Delta’s most recent upgrade to the Delta Skyclub at Atlanta and is currently only offered in Atlanta’s Terminal F and at Terminal 4 in JFK airport in New York City. To experience the SkyDeck for yourself, you can buy a SkyClub day pass for $50, an annual membership, or get complimentary access to any Delta SkyClub when flying Delta Air Lines with your American Express Platinum Credit Card.
