I wrote last week about a new promotion from Alaska Airlines that offers a free flight (after paying taxes and fees) when you book and complete two round-trip flights to various skiing destinations. Apparently the promotion is even larger than I thought and also includes discounted lift tickets and other purchases when you show your boarding pass at participating resorts.
Visit AlaskaAir.com/ski to learn more about these savings. For example, Squaw Valley will provide a free afternoon lift ticket for skiing or snowboarding from 1-4 PM on the day of arrival, so you can fly in the morning (instead of late at night) and not feel like you wasted a day on a plane. Some of the offers are more or less generous, depending on the resort. Here are the participating locations:
- Alyeska Resort, located outside of Anchorage, Alaska
- Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, located in California
- Big White Ski Resort, near Kelowna, British Columbia
- Steamboat Ski Resort, Steamboat Springs, Colorado
- Sun Valley Ski Resort, Sun Valley, Idaho
- Big Sky Resort, Whitefish Mountain Resort, and Big Sky Resort, located in Montana
- Taos Ski Valley, located near Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, Bend, Oregon
- Snowbasin Resort and Snowbird Ski Resort, located near Salt Lake City
