As the battle for Seattle continues, Alaska Airlines has announced their next promotion for Mileage Plan members which offers double redeemable miles to 20 destinations from Seattle and all nonstop flights to and from Delta’s Salt Lake City hub.
Alaska is on the defense in Seattle and has also pushed into Salt Lake City by adding 6 new routes in 2014. To heat up the competition, Alaska is rewarding their Seattle and Salt Lake frequent flyers by giving them double miles for flying their flights over their partner and now largest competitor Delta. Almost every route that Alaska competes with Delta on is giving Mileage plan members double miles!
Travel between February 15 and May 15, 2015 to qualify for double miles and be sure to fly nonstop between city pairs. Flights with connections, beyond the double mile city pair will only earn double miles on the segment that qualifies for this promotion.
For example, if someone flies PHX-SEA-DCA they will earn a total of 4435 redeemable miles:
PHX – SEA: 1107 base miles miles + 1107 bonus miles
SEA – DCA: 2329 base miles + 0 bonus miles for a total of 4435 base miles
