Those who have flown in Singapore Airlines in Suites, First, or Business Class know about Book the Cook, the airline’s meal pre-order option. If you’re not familiar, Scott had a post a while back detailing the options he had for an upcoming trip.
BTC choices are extensive, particularly when departing from the airline’s Singapore hub, and include items that aren’t found on the normal menu. BTC is different from online entrée selection on, for example, American Airlines flights, where you simply pre-order your selection from what the flight’s menu will be that day.
I have an upcoming trip on Singapore Airlines and while I was keen on making some Book the Cook selections, I also wanted to know what the regular menu would look like. So I sent an e-mail to Singapore Airlines with my upcoming flight information – flight number, route, class of service, and dates. The e-mail address I used was saa_feedback(AT)singaporeair.com.sg
I e-mailed them on a weekend and within 3 days, I had an e-mail that included PDF scans of the Singapore Airlines menu for my upcoming flights. For example, here is some of the January 2014 menu for SQ 11 Suites from Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo (NRT).
Now some people may refuse to do this, since perusing the menu while ensconced in a First Class seat ready to devour eight bottles of Dom Perignon can be part of the experience. I’m just not a fan of surprises.
