Alaska Airlines is back again with their annual Fly Alaska Airlines and Ski for free promotion. The annual winter promotion brings together Alaska Airlines with your favorite winter destinations. When you fly Alaska Airlines to select destinations, a free lift ticket is included! I took advantage of this promotion a couple of years ago and had a wonderful experience on the slopes of Alyeska! Not only were the slopes fun, but the views were amazing!
The promotion is limited to select Ski destinations and every mountain has their own rules and limitation. This year, Alaska Airlines is partnering with new destinations which include Eaglecrest in Juneau, and Bogus Basin in Boise. Other exciting destinations include Mt Bachelor outside of Bend, Oregon, Sqaw Valley in Reno/Tahoe and Marmot Basin in Edmonton, Alberta. There are several more destinations, beyond what I have mentioned. Be sure to check out all of Alaska Airlines, Fly Alaska Airlines Ski free destinations.
Ski Free destinations are only valid for same day arrivals. This is great destinations such as Anchorage as many flights arrive in the early morning. Some so early you could sleep before hitting the slopes. This allows for an entire day of skiing after your flight. Other ski destinations do not have as many flights, but even a few free hours is worth it in my opinion. Please look at the rules for each ski resort. Few locations do have blackout dates or are only valid Monday-Thursday.
Finally, I suggest bringing your own gear. It’s cheaper than renting! A check bag on most fares cost only $25. Alaska Airlines does not charge extra for ski and snowboarding equipment. Therefore bring your own gear for just $25! Or if you’re elite, have the Alaska Airlines Credit Card, or in First class that bag is free!
I’m excited the ski free promotion is back and plan to take advantage at least once this winter. Will you?
