Rocketmiles is a service that provides frequent flyer miles when you book your hotel. It doesn’t have the same selection as your usual online travel agent, but the deals it negotiates with individual properties make it easier to secure big bonuses. In addition, you can be a little more confident that these are going to be good properties, vetted by Rocketmiles.
Normally Rocketmiles has promotions for 3,000 miles if you sign up with one of its airline partners. They’ll also run promotions every couple of weeks. For the holidays, however, they’re offering 1,000 miles per night up to a maximum of 5,000 miles on a 5+ night stay. (HT to LoyaltyLobby) There are a large number of programs where you can choose to credit these miles.
Rocketmiles is not a good choice for people who want to earn hotel loyalty points or elite status. Most loyalty programs exclude third-party reservations from their programs, although they may still honor other benefits (upgrades, breakfast, etc.) if you already have status. However, if you stay infrequently or if you aren’t loyalty to any particular brand then Rocketmiles can be a good way to boost the balance of your frequent flyer account and take you one step closer to a free flight.
