Inflight WiFi – The unbundled option most airlines now offer is an amenity I love to hate. I love it because it allows me to stay connected while at 30,000 feet, but hate it as I now no longer have an excuse of not getting work done while flying. Despite this slight conundrum, I find inflight WiFi prices to be quite high when bought for individual flights – $14 for a day pass! The monthly price of just $39.99 isn’t bad, especially if someone flies multiple times a month, yet this is still as much as I pay for my much faster and more reliable internet at home. Despite all this, and my gripes with the prices, GoGo is increasing their prices in March and is giving you a chance to secure prices now, at lower more affordable prices.
Customers today can lock in low rates as long as they sign up for their unlimited flight options before Feb 28, 2014. Current prices are $39.99 for one airline and $49.99 for all GoGo equipped airlines. The price increase has not yet been announced, but I would expect to see a 10-15% rise in price, especially as GoGo is getting ready to reveal inflight Talk & Text option along with hybrid Ground-To-Orbit wifi, that offer a full 60Mbs download capability—meaning wifi speeds up to 20 times faster then what is currently offered today!
To be sure you are getting the best prices, I would recommend securing a monthly GoGo plan today for $50/month, allowing you to browse at 10,000 feet above no matter what airline you fly across the US and soon Canada!
