Hawaiian’s largest airport and gateway to the Hawaiian Islands is about to lose it’s main Priority Pass lounge. Since the merger with Alaska Airlines, management is restricting access to Plumeria Lounge to guests who are not flying Hawaiian Airlines. Part of this could be due to the major lounge remodel that is in the works. Another reason could be due to being too crowded. Starting April 1, 2025; Priority guests will no longer have access to the The Plumeria Lounge. The I.A.S.S Hawaii Lounge in terminal 2 is still open to Priority pass guests between 7:30 – 13:30 & 14:00 – 18:00 daily
Alaska Airlines lounges in Seattle, Los Angeles, and elsewhere previously welcomed Priority Pass guests, but often would restrict access due to crowding. After about a year or less of accepting Priority Pass, Alaska decided to do away with the partnership. There are just too many frequent flyers in the United States with Credit Cards that provide Priority Pass. Alaska claimed that it made the lounge experience poorer for all guests and instead decided to focus on their own program and members by kicking out Priority Pass.
Priority Pass website already warns guests that the partnership with Hawaiian Airlines and the Plumeria Lounge will end on April 1, 2025. Until then the lounge is made available between
06:30 – 22:00 daily to card holders. Due note, that access is restricted at times due to capacity restrictions and the desire to focus on Hawaiian’s own guests first.
