The new partnership between Hyatt and MGM Resorts was announced in a press release earlier this month, and I covered it extensively at that time. However, it only just went live on Thursday. You can now earn both Hyatt Gold Passport points and status at the same time that you accumulate M life tier credits at participating MGM Resorts in Las Vegas.
This is one of the most expansive partnerships I’ve seen between two hotel programs. Whereas some other hotel chains do collaborate with one or two Las Vegas resorts, none have been on the same scale. Hyatt and MGM will also be matching their members to each others’ loyalty programs, which I don’t think has been done by any previous casino partnership. For example: Venetian may recognize some InterContinental Ambassador benefits, but it does not match those guests to similar status in its Club Grazie program. In contrast, Hyatt Diamond members will get complimentary Platinum status with M life, only one step below invitation-only NOIR status.
As I said, read my review for more details. The new partnerships makes it easier to earn elite status with Hyatt when you visit Las Vegas (previously there was only a Hyatt Place near the airport) and also to keep up your M life status when you stay at Hyatt properties around the globe. I’ll be sharing more details as they are announced, but for now you can check out this new infographic about the partnership or download a PDF.
