Have you heard of it or checked it out yet? Netherlands based airline KLM introduced this idea a few months ago and the idea is to allow travelers to connect via social media before the flight. Travelers can link their facebook or Linked in accounts to the KLM application and then explore profiles of other people on the plane. The idea is to allow you to sit next to someone you might actually enjoy for those long haul trips, share cabs after the flight, or at least “meet” before spending a long period of time together.
Currently Meet & Seat is It is available for bookings with only 1 passenger. Meet & Seat can be accessed any time 90 days before the flight and upto 48hours before depatures. When first introduced only KLM flights between Amsterdam and New York, San Francisco and Sao Paul offered this add on, but KLM has promised to extend to more intercontinental KLM flights to and from Amsterdam.
I find this to be somewhat amusing, somewhat creapy, but overall a good idea. So now we have it, airplane online dating!
