Despite living nearly 10,000 miles from Australia, I kind of keep tabs on Virgin Australia. I had good experiences on the few occasions I have flown with them, and I hope to again. I am a fan of good advertising especially airline commercials. As part of the Virgin Group, style is front and center of everything, but in my experiences with the Australian brand, there is actually some substance to back it up as well.
The airline recently launched a new commercial and like others I have shared here, seems to focus on the people that make up the airline. I like the Frank Sinatra soundtrack, quite appropriate for a commercial like this. Plus, I’m nostalgic for the “Come Fly with Me” CD I received from a flight with Captain Denny. The commercial has lots of beautiful people and some lovely views of Sydney and elsewhere in Australia. This particular ad doesn’t talk about a new product or benefit, rather it just shows the ‘normal’ people that make up their staff, and thanks to some CGI, both their staff and fleet looks huge.
Not the best airline commercial I’ve seen, but good enough for me to be impressed, and want to share. What do you think?
