Opened just eight years ago, the Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas McCarren International Airport holds the title as the first lounge built in the American Express Centurion Lounge network. It quickly became a fan-favorite for Platinum Card holders and its popularity among Las Vegas visitors made it an instant hit. But to the bane of many visitors, the lounge didn’t occupy the biggest space and the small footprint was unable to accommodate all the travelers, which resulted in long wait times and less than ideal conditions for rest and relaxation.
But now, the Las Vegas Centurion Lounge has joined the ranks of other Centurion Lounges that have undergone major renovation and expansion projects. The Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas is now nearly double in size, growing from approximately 7,000 square feet to over 13,000 square feet, with a completely new entrance, facade, private room for Centurion members, cell phone rooms and expanded seating areas. If you haven’t visited the recently renovated lounge yet, you’ll be in for a treat on your next visit.
The Las Vegas Centurion Lounge is located in the D gates satellite concourse of Las Vegas McCarren Airport and is currently open with limited hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. The lounge is located across from gate D1 and is easily accessible by travelers flying with Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, Sun Country, United, and other airlines departing from the D gates. Travelers flying with other airlines such as Allegiant, Southwest, Spirit, etc. (departing from A, B, C or E gates) will have to take a quick tram ride to the D gates to visit the lounge.
American Express Centurion Lounge Las Vegas
Gone are the distinctly colored blue doors; the entrance is now replaced with a more subtle entryway but with a more grandiose and slightly obnoxious blue accent wall.
To the front of the lounge, you will still find a Member Services Desk to check-in or obtain any other cardholder services.
As you enter the lounge, you will now find two new recently expanded seating areas with tables, armchairs, and loveseats to accommodate a variety of travelers from families and couples to solo travelers. The design details of the expanded areas are consistent with the existing decor of the lounge and you will find the new seating areas to blend in seamlessly with the existing areas of the lounge.
Behind the second seating area, you will find a more secluded work area with a long communal table, several individual pods, and a new coffee bar. Electrical outlets are available by all the seating areas and password-protected WiFi is provided throughout the lounge.
The private room for Centurion members has also been moved to this new area. It’s not the biggest room but it does offer some peace and quiet away from the main lounge.
The dining room is slightly smaller now as a temporary bar has been set up in the dining room. The new permanent bar is still under construction and will be completed soon, which will restore the dining room to its full capacity.
Behind the dining room are the food and beverage stations, featuring a fantastic selection of both hot and cold dishes during the morning and afternoon hours. Due to Covid, all the food is plated behind glass partitions for each guest but the coffee/tea bar is still self-serve.

It should be noted that showers have been removed from the Centurion Lounge. I am told that this is not just because of Covid but because of the renovation. The family room has also been removed and will be replaced with a new multi-purpose room (still under construction).
In the center of the lounge, you will find an expanded seating area and two new cell phone rooms. I love this concept as I find it very annoying to hear people talking loudly on their cell phones.
And along the floor-to-ceiling windows, with expansive views of the tarmac, you will find another seating area with plenty of seating for solo travelers and groups.

The Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas McCarren Airport has always been a fan-favorite for Platinum Card holders and the new expansion will be a welcomed relief for many Las Vegas visitors. Now nearly double in size, the expanded lounge will be able to accommodate more visitors and provide a more pleasant travel experience for all.
