I took a mileage run to Stockholm back in January and just recently found the photographs I took of four different airport lounges from that trip. Among the least impressive was the Menzies Business Lounge at Stockholm Arlanda T2. I was mainly there to kill time before my flight.
Access to this lounge is open to almost anyone with some kind of membership, including Priority Pass but also elite status with several different loyalty programs. I happened to use my oneworld Alliance Emerald status and a British Airways economy class ticket. Inside there were newspapers, a cold breakfast buffet, free Internet, and lots and lots of empty seating.
I made myself a plate with some dense bread, butter, jam, and yogurt. The espresso machine worked well enough. Considering I was at the airport at 6:30 in the morning by myself, it was better than nothing. But it did look like it would be a pleasant space to hang out with a group during the busier hours. I couldn’t imagine it ever filling up.
Although it’s difficult to argue with free, the Menzies Business Lounge isn’t worth going out of your way to visit. The main redeeming feature is that there are so few other dining options in T2, especially when it’s very early or late. A restaurant and bar just outside the lounge entrance struck me as more interesting even though it was just as empty.
My suggestion — if you have the time — is to walk to the SkyCity shopping complex at the middle of the airport, between terminals T4 and T5.
