If you’re a Hilton fan — and many of you may be, given the recent Diamond status matches — you can save some cash on your next stay. Some American Express cardholders have been targeted with Amex offers to get a statement credit off their next stay at Hilton or Hampton properties.
The Hilton offer is for $60 off your next purchase of $300 or more, and it is exclusive to Hilton hotels and resorts. This means you can’t use it at other Hilton brands, including Hilton Grand Vacations, Conrad, Hilton Garden Inn, and many others. (As far as I can tell, a few popular vacation destinations like the Hilton Hawaiian Village do qualify as they have separate Hilton hotels and Grand Vacations properties within the same resort.)
If you’re staying at a Hampton by Hilton property (what I usually remember as Hampton Inn), you can save $35 off your next purchase of $175.
In either case you should be able to take advantage of these offers on a two- or three-night stay, so I don’t believe the threshold is very high. The Hilton hotels and resorts offer is valid through April 11, 2016. The Hampton Inn offer is actually expiring much sooner, on January 18, but I only noticed it today when adding the other Hilton offer.
You need to add either or both offers to your card in order to qualify. In our case, only my wife’s Amex Platinum Card was targeted for either offer. However, neither one of us has a Hilton-branded credit card. Your luck might be better.
Keep an eye out for other great Amex Offers! I’ve seen deals like $250 off a $1,000 purchase on Delta (good for booking an international ticket) or $20 off a $200 purchase at Enterprise (if you’re renting a car). New travel discounts are added all the time.
Update: Amol tells me that Citi also has an offer for 10% off at Hilton or Hampton. You can find this by loading the Citi mobile app and checking the “Offers for You.” See the screenshot below for an example.
