Alaska Airlines has a new 48-hour sale to entice travelers as many cities begin to reopen and think about flying again. But don’t think Alaska is being careless. The sale is for travel between September 8 and November 18, 2020. That means we’ll have plenty of time to see how infection rates change and potentially adjust plans if necessary. Any tickets you book by June 30 will be eligible for a waiver on change or cancellation fees.
Alaska is also touting its Next-Level Care, which includes over 100 measures to keep planes clean and help passengers stay safe. And members seeking elite status can earn 50% more elite-qualifying miles through December 31.
Sale destinations are grouped by Alaska hub cities; fares are for one-way travel.

My wife and I are getting a little antsy ourselves and would love a chance to escape the Texas summer. After all, our employers have told us we’re not heading back to the office any sooner than mid-August. This sale won’t necessarily help with that given the later travel dates, but we did want to head to Portland and Santa Rosa this fall. This sale couldn’t come at a better time.
