Wow air is having another sale but make sure to add up all the fees and ancillary costs associated with flying a low cost carrier before jumping on this deal. The initial airfare may be cheaper than dirt but you might be better off with a traditional carrier after all the additional fees are added up. For a limited time, you can save up to 50% off your flights by using promo code WOWSALE. Hat tip to Airfarewatchdog for finding this deal.
This sale is valid for flights between August 20, 2017 and December 10, 2017 and must be booked by 11:59 GMT on August 17, 2017. Availability is fairly limited.
Here are some sample fares:
- Boston to Dublin for $192 roundtrip
- Boston to Paris for $215 roundtrip
- Los Angeles to Reykjavik for $212 roundtrip
- Miami to Brussels for $290 roundtrip
- Pittsburgh to Paris for $290 roundtrip
- San Francisco to Dublin for $251 roundtrip
WOW air additional fees
But, keep in mind. The cost of your ticket includes a seat on the plane and one small PERSONAL item only (maximum of 17 x 13 x 10 inches and 22 lbs). It does NOT include:
- A seat selection
- Carry-on bag
- Checked bag
- Food
- Water/drinks/snacks
- Entertainment
- Or anything else
And keep in mind, these fees are per direction and connecting flights will have increased fees. Baggage fees and seat selection fees will also be more expensive when flying from the West Coast United States or to Europe (requiring a connection in Reykjavik). In other words, fees for Los Angeles to Reykjavik will be more expensive than fees from Boston to Reykjavik and Boston to Paris will be more expensive than Boston to Reykjavik. On my last WOW air flight, I paid over $200 in additional fees and I packed light!
